It is a department affiliated with the Department of Basic Education, established with the restructuring of the Faculties of Education. The Department of Preschool Education accepts students into the Primary Education program.
The Department of Preschool Education offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. The aim of the undergraduate program is to equip prospective preschool teachers with fundamental knowledge and skills for teaching in preschool classrooms affiliated with primary schools and independent kindergartens. The department's primary goal is to provide up-to-date information and equip prospective teachers with professional skills to guide students.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM: Completing the undergraduate program qualifies for a bachelor's degree in the Department of Preschool Education. Graduates can work as teachers.
MASTER'S PROGRAM: Completing the master's program qualifies for a Master of Science degree in the Department of Preschool Education. Graduates of the Master's Program in Preschool Education can pursue doctoral degrees upon attaining the necessary qualifications.
VISION: To be a leading department in producing well-equipped and successful undergraduate graduates in the preschool field. To be a department that conducts scientific activities, research, and projects that contribute to educational science, particularly in the preschool field.
MISSION: To be a department that produces graduates who can teach in private and public preschools and kindergartens affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. They are knowledgeable about all psychological and physiological aspects of child development, aware of the cultural and historical background of preschool education, have completed the educational sciences courses within the teacher training program, are competent in teaching preschool subjects such as science, mathematics, music, visual arts, drama, physical education, and games. They are open to informing and guiding parents and students on matters such as parenting and guidance. They will demonstrate their teaching skills through fluent written and spoken Turkish, general cultural and historical knowledge, foreign language skills, and computer skills.
HISTORY AND INTRODUCTION: The department, which began teaching in the 2006-2007 academic year, produced its first graduates in 2010. Students have been accepted into the evening program since 2012.
Graduates from the department can become preschool teachers in kindergartens or work in related fields.
